DCT LINE CARD / SENSORS, ACTUATION AND CONTROL VALVES

Diesel Pressure Sensors (ICP / EBP / MAP)

ICP, EBP and MAP are distinct measurement points. Injection control pressure is associated with oil-actuated systems, whereas EBP and MAP relate to engine air or exhaust conditions.

A similar connector or fault-code description is not enough to choose a diesel sensor or control valve. Use the complete part number and application when asking DCT for sourcing help.

Where this component fits

A sensor or control-valve fault code does not necessarily prove the component has failed; wiring, supply conditions and mechanical system behavior can be involved.

Identify the correct part before ordering

Identify which sensor failed by its location, stamped part number and diagnostic context.

Give the sensor marking, connector style and location on the engine. If there is a diagnostic code, include the code and the observed symptom rather than using the code as the part identification.

Replacement and diagnostic questions

Do not substitute one sensor category for another because the body or plug looks similar.

Check connection, mounting and test results before assuming a sensor or valve is the cause of a code or symptom. Sensor nomenclature can vary across engine families and is not proof of interchangeability.

Common names and related search terms

Related terms include ICP injection control pressure; EBP exhaust backpressure; MAP manifold pressure. Sensor acronyms are useful search terms but are not a substitute for the OEM part number and connector description. Provide the complete part number and intended application when requesting a quote.
