DCT LINE CARD / SENSORS, ACTUATION AND CONTROL VALVES

Diesel EGR Valves

Exhaust-gas recirculation components affect air and exhaust control rather than directly metering injection fuel. EGR faults can resemble other drivability problems.

A similar connector or fault-code description is not enough to choose a diesel sensor or control valve. Use the complete part number and application when asking DCT for sourcing help.

Where this component fits

A sensor or control-valve fault code does not necessarily prove the component has failed; wiring, supply conditions and mechanical system behavior can be involved.

Identify the correct part before ordering

Provide the EGR valve number, engine model and recorded fault conditions.

Give the sensor marking, connector style and location on the engine. If there is a diagnostic code, include the code and the observed symptom rather than using the code as the part identification.

Replacement and diagnostic questions

Distinguish valve, cooler, sensor and wiring issues before selecting the required replacement component.

Check connection, mounting and test results before assuming a sensor or valve is the cause of a code or symptom. Sensor nomenclature can vary across engine families and is not proof of interchangeability.

Common names and related search terms

Related terms include exhaust gas recirculation valve; EGR actuator. Sensor acronyms are useful search terms but are not a substitute for the OEM part number and connector description. Provide the complete part number and intended application when requesting a quote.
