DCT LINE CARD / SENSORS, ACTUATION AND CONTROL VALVES

Turbocharger Wastegate Controls

Turbocharger wastegate and related boost controls change turbo operation and are distinct from fuel-injection pumps. Solenoid type and operating method vary across engines.

A similar connector or fault-code description is not enough to choose a diesel sensor or control valve. Use the complete part number and application when asking DCT for sourcing help.

Where this component fits

A sensor or control-valve fault code does not necessarily prove the component has failed; wiring, supply conditions and mechanical system behavior can be involved.

Identify the correct part before ordering

Send the turbo and actuator or solenoid numbers, engine model and system symptoms.

Give the sensor marking, connector style and location on the engine. If there is a diagnostic code, include the code and the observed symptom rather than using the code as the part identification.

Replacement and diagnostic questions

Confirm whether the needed item is a control valve, harness connector, actuator or entire turbo assembly.

Check connection, mounting and test results before assuming a sensor or valve is the cause of a code or symptom. Sensor nomenclature can vary across engine families and is not proof of interchangeability.

Common names and related search terms

Related terms include wastegate solenoid; turbo vacuum regulating valve; boost control. Sensor acronyms are useful search terms but are not a substitute for the OEM part number and connector description. Provide the complete part number and intended application when requesting a quote.
