Camshaft and crankshaft position sensors provide timing information used by engine controls. A hard start or stall may have causes other than either sensor.
ICP, EBP and MAP are distinct measurement points. Injection control pressure is associated with oil-actuated systems, whereas EBP and MAP relate to engine air or exhaust conditions.
Engine oil, coolant and fuel temperature signals influence different control decisions. Fault codes or drivability symptoms should be evaluated in the relevant circuit.
Accelerator-pedal and throttle-position sensing terms can describe different assemblies and generations. They are not universally interchangeable components.
An injection-pressure regulator is used in certain oil-actuated diesel injector control systems. It is distinct from a common-rail diesel fuel-pressure regulator.
Exhaust-gas recirculation components affect air and exhaust control rather than directly metering injection fuel. EGR faults can resemble other drivability problems.
Turbocharger wastegate and related boost controls change turbo operation and are distinct from fuel-injection pumps. Solenoid type and operating method vary across engines.
